About:
VESSEL
Welcome to VESSEL! We are happy to be a part of the community. We aspire to spread mindfulness, kindness, wellness, meditation, love, friendship, YOGA, and so much more! The name Vessel represents our body, our temple. It is the one and only place we get to live. Take care of it, you only have one. Plus, it is your tool on the path to enlightenment. Treat your vessel with care, respect, honor, and love. Living in our physical body, our vessel, we also believe that that care extends to the emotional and mental self, not just the physical. We have to care for ourselves in ways that are uniquely good for your individual, your body, your mind, your spirit, and your soul. We are here to assist that healing in any way.
The logo design is based off of the seed of life. Outlined in white, the 3 top petals form a triangle, representing mind, body, and spirit. The dot and line inside of the triangle are symbolic of enlightenment.
A Thank you to all of you who have supported VESSEL-
I am so grateful for this time I was able to spend with the community, with the students, with my fellow yoga teachers. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to close the studio. I apologize for such a short notice but we were exploring every option available before having to make this decision. I have cherished this space and loved watching our classes and students grow and develop. The testimony of personal experiences and kind words after classes inspired and helped me grow as a teacher and student of yoga, learning all the time and loving every experience. The connections and friendships that have been created through this space, I hope continue to expand. I hope each individual that has been a part of Vessel continues to grow on their yoga journey. I will be back after maternity to continue massage therapy service in the community. I will be joining the team at Santosha, and I am excited to be working with such wonderful people. I will also return to teaching yoga and that plan is yet to be determined. I am forever grateful for all of you, for vessel, for all of the connection and experiences... and I am so grateful I have the opportunity to be home with my baby and family.
With so much love and light- Namaste- Michelle

Michelle L. Jordan CYT-200
Michelle has attained her certification through Lotus Yoga Centre out of North Barrington in 2014, under the instruction of Anita Maher. The program, being part of The Himalayan Institute, was intended to deepen her personal practice and to teach her massage clients poses they could use to improve the way their body felt. Michelle has been practicing yoga since she was in school for massage, 2007. "I fell in love with my new world of healing, my main tools being yoga and massage." She has been guiding people to yoga ever since, also encouraging alternative ways for healing. In 2017 she began teaching yoga classes. She is very passionate about the body, touch, helping each other, and practicing kindness to all, humans, creatures, and our Earth. Michelle's style of teaching focuses on moving the body with the breathe, helping to focus the mind and train the brain. This practice enhances a meditative like mind set. Meditation has been proven to change the chemical make up of the brain, creating "anti-depressent"/"anti-anxiety" like effects. She also has a strong practice encouraging alignment in the body, improving posture, helping to open nerve path ways, improving cell communication, creating a more efficienct body. When we control the breathe, we are more able to control the mind. When we control the mind we are able to control the body. "Controlling the breath, is a prerequisite to controlling the mind and the body."- Swami Rama
